Gray Line West is recognized with a top award by Princess Cruises Prestigious Shore Excursion of the Season Award presented to Victoria Tour Operator Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (September 26, 2005) - Gray Line West is proud to announce that its Butchart & Butterfly Gardens tour in Victoria, British Columbia has been named Princess Cruises’ Shore Excursion of the Season. This annual C.R.U.I.S.E. award is based on passenger feedback and is awarded to select tour operators in the Alaskan and Canadian ports that Princess Cruises operates from. The Butchart & Butterfly Gardens tour combines two highly popular attractions with award winning service operated by Gray Line West personnel in Victoria and attracts thousands of passengers each year. “We are delighted to receive this prestigious recognition,” says Paul Tilbury, Managing Director, Gray Line West. “It is a strong endorsement of the tourism products and service levels that Gray Line West offers in the marketplace and we congratulate Butchart Gardens and Butterfly Gardens on assisting us in exceeding the expectations of Princess Cruises’ passengers.” Princess Cruises created the C.R.U.I.S.E. (Courtesy, Respect, Unfailing In Service Excellence) awards in 1999 in the Caribbean as part of its customer service program. It expanded to Alaska in 2000 and is a season long effort to recognize the importance of tour operators to the passengers’ cruise experience. Operators that are honoured with the Shore Excursion of the Season award receive a plaque, a letter of commendation, a tour of the ship, and lunch onboard for company officials. Gray Line West (GLW) offers both sightseeing and charter motorcoach operations in Banff, Alberta and Vancouver, Whistler and Victoria, British Columbia. The company operates a total of 160 buses and employs over 400 people. Armstrong Hospitality Group Ltd. (AHG) announced the acquisition of the Gray Line franchises in May 2005, which now operate jointly as Gray Line West (GLW). With corporate offices in Vancouver, AHG owns and operates Rocky Mountaineer Vacations, the acclaimed Rocky Mountaineer train and the Whistler Mountaineer train, which begins operation in May 2006 between North Vancouver and Whistler, B.C.
